WORLD WAR 3 AND ITS CONSEQUENCES
The Most Likely Outcomes of a Third World War
As the war between russia and ukraine continues World seems
to be divided in two blocks .One is America that is supporting Ukraine and
other is Russia .In battle of superpowers the whole world could face fierce
consequences
The History
World War I started in 1914 when German forces, supported by
the French and British, invaded Belgium. What resulted was a quarter-million
deaths in four months, with an estimated 10 million men (one-third of the
world's population at the time) mobilized and millions more left wounded. But
the fighting stopped at the killing fields of Verdun in northern France, where
from 1916-1918 an estimated 9 million soldiers faced each other and fired more
than one million shells. In April 1918, the Germans made the last big push to
win the war, with the outbreak of fighting near the Belgian border. But the
Germans failed to make major progress, and the fighting ended on November 11,
1918.
German casualties totaled 3.4 million dead and 10 million
wounded; Allied losses were 1.4 million dead, 3.
The Current Situation
On August 12, 2014 when ukrainian forces were advancing
towards the rebel-held city of Donetsk, German Chancellor Angela Merkel,
Russian President Vladimir Putin and French President Francois Hollande decided
to impose a ceasefire in eastern Ukraine. The foreign leaders presented a
united position that Ukraine would hold a presidential election within months,
and a temporary ceasefire would provide space for the vote to be held.
However, many officials within the Ukrainian government and
rebels within the Donbass region say that there is no agreement on the release
of prisoners of war, and that the planned ceasefire will not be respected.
The Possibilities Of Third World War
It seems that the next war could lead to some catastrophic
consequences for the whole world. Here we discuss some possible scenarios of
third world war and try to predict what will be the outcomes of that war. We
suppose that during the war between russia and ukraine Russia is the most
vulnerable country of the world, its armed forces are one of the smallest in
the world and its defense budget is only 3% of its GDP. From Russia there will
come fresh supplies of weapons and ammunition which will be used to support the
soldiers and civilians. It is very likely that Russia is ready to use nuclear
weapons if it receives that order from Putin. The last large war that broke out
in Europe was between russia and polish USSR. This resulted in the creation of
united rosy union.
Conclusion
The future is hard to predict especially after the events of
the last year and Russia is now far away from being a military superpower.
Maybe it is time for the Russian leadership to abandon the idea of a multipolar
world. The response by the Russian leadership to the reality shows that the
Russian leadership has a strong nationalist ideology of 'a Russia for Russians'
that wants to make the world for itself and to compete with the US and not the
other way round.
At least at the moment Russia cannot be considered a
superpower that could be a challenger to the US or to the EU. It has developed
its nuclear weapons but it is also weak on conventional military. Russia can
not invade Estonia or any other European country. Its military is still in
developing stage.
